Nobody is too busy, it's just a matter of priority

Your priorities matter, but are you taking the time to determine what is most valuable to you.
Change is on the horizon, but you must first stop and pause.

When feeling stressed or anxious – very often the first thing we loose is a sense of ourselves. We get to a point, where we feel we have no purpose or direction. We get to a point, where we are overextending ourselves to suppress our own feelings. If we just push our emotions far down
enough, we won’t feel them, right? Actually, it’s the complete opposite, when we experience these overwhelming feelings and we ignore or suppress them – eventually they will boil over and could lead to depression or burnout or worse.
COVID-19 certainly tested a lot of people’s purpose and direction, with it’s whirlwind of uncertainty, the constant change and the lack of stability both physically, emotionally and financially. People globally found themselves in deep-waters, that pushed them to their core, breaking down everything that once existed and creating a blank page – which can be hugely frightening or an opportunity of a lifetime.
Growing up, I always had a keen interest in human behaviour, in hindsight this stemmed from my relationship with my father and how I would study his behaviour to get the reaction I was looking for. Unfortunately, during this time, I felt like I was too much and never enough all at once. I went through major challenges, leading me to depression and anxiety – I didn’t know where I was going or how to climb out of my pit of sadness. But one glorious morning, I was reminded of the Miracle of tomorrow and I picked myself up off the floor and stepped into a serious road to recovery and journey to self-mastery. I didn’t just want to feel better, I wanted to have the necessary tools and strategies in order to overcome these challenges, over and over again. Instead of me taking years to breakthrough the pain of an incidence, it now takes me hours, because I have the right strategies in place, to find the root of my pain and channel towards inner peace and happiness. Focusing on what is in my control and what is beyond my control – and then actively letting go of the things holding me down… the heaviness. I am now FREE of my past and have the strategies in place to overcome anything and lead a full life in order to reach my true potential and purpose. And there’s nothing I love more than to share my program with others?
Are you looking to navigate life effortlessly? I’m most definitely NOT suggesting that you won’t have challenges – you will experience the same highs and lows, however now you have the tools to conquer your pain and unhook emotionally – leading to loving yourself completely. Have you spent the time recently to discover what the top priorities are in your life? It could be family, work, exercise or spirituality – to name but a few. Some examples to lean into is and discover your priority, could be to ask yourself some of these questions:
1. How do you fill your space?
2. How do you spend your time?
3. What inspires you?
4. What do you talk about most in your social settings?
5. When, the lights are off, what do you visual or envision for your life?
Understanding how we spend our time and what’s most important to us is imperative – because if you are not deeply invested or if it’s not important to you – you won’t make it a priority. Mahatma Gandhi said “Action expresses priorities.” So, let’s deep-dive into your values.
Firstly, there’s Telos (the ultimate end in mind) – these are your utmost important values, where you are most resilient, fulfilled and find yourself leading the pack. Your top priority is normally related to your long-term vision and it’s where you are most organised, disciplined and reliable. You should always find time for the things that make you feel alive and happy.
Things low on your priority list, maybe like for me, it’s hitting the gym, eating healthy is a priority to me, but waking up at 5am each morning to jog isn’t my Telos. When dealing with your lowest priorities you may find yourself procrastinating, frustrated or disorganised. Jim Rohn said “If it’s a priority you’ll find a way. If it isn’t, you’ll find an excuse.”
In order to be a whole person with purpose & direction, you need to look at yourself holistically – taking these 7 factors into consideration:
1. Spiritual
Do you have a spiritual mission? With a connection to God and listen to your inner voice?
2. Mental
Are you of sound mind? Are your thoughts, ideas and reasoning positive?
3. Vocational
Do you love what you do or do you just have a job?
4. Financial
Do you appreciate the value of money? Have your thought about your money mindset and how this controls your finances?
5. Family
Do you connect and interact with others? What are your expectations when it comes to relationships?
6. Social
Do you isolate yourself? How do you expand your sphere of influence?
7. Physical
Is well-being and nutrition a priority to you? What is your definition of health?
The reality is, that if you don’t empower yourself in ALL spheres of your life, someone will overpower you in that area of your life. Mastering these areas of your life, will lead to balance and fulfilment. 

Lastly, I want to remind you to honour your own values and to not try to compare yourself to others or become infatuated with someone else’s traits and values – putting unnecessary pressure on yourself. STOP the judgment, as this will only lead to resentment and frustration – and when we are
frustrated, we are NOT able to live our best lives. The trick is to find yourself in a CARING relationship, where you don’t need to be careful (walk on eggs) or careless (rude and obnoxious). Where you honour both yours and others values, where there’s no judgment, balance and where both parties can leave their unique legacy. Remember if you are constantly putting others first, you are putting yourself and your priorities second. To change your life, you need to change your priorities.
